Chillicothe Council's Dustin Proehl says it's in the beginning stages of discussions.
In October, over 50 wild animals were released by their suicidal owner in Zanesville. Now, Chillicothe city council members are looking to create legislation relevant to such scenarios.
"The current ordinance protects with respect to vicious dogs and constricting snakes of a certain size, but, otherwise, there is nothing in the ordinance to say you can't own an exotic animal," said Councilman Dustin Proehl.
He added that the possible legislation has not yet been assigned to committee, but look for a meeting over the this in the coming weeks.
