You’ve probably heard Dan Ramey speak of Don Ervin, one of his classmates who sings the National Anthem around the country (including Chillicothe Paints games). Tuesday night, Don got to check something off his bucket list... sing on stage with Chicago. The band has been performing worldwide for more than 40 years and have opened their stage with high bidding singers for a chance to sing with the band, all to benefit The American Cancer Society. Now on to vacation! Mike's back Monday and will fill in for Dan, who's back in time for the Ross County Fair.

So, when you live in the hills of the Pike Lake State Park Region... how do you get home when there's road construction? You go around it, of course.

Dan says "You'll notice dirt and gravel road... but no guard rails. One day this week I was stopped by a deer, sideways garbage truck (picking up a dumpster) and a horse "free ranging it" along the roadway... all in the same trip!!! People in town always ask why I live out there... easy to answer when you sit on the back porch and just "listen" to the surroundings at night. No hustle & bustle... and now that Fredneck's opened up the road, I'm just 3 miles from a freshly baked pizza or sub! LOL"

I spent some time with some of the boys putting on a little thing called the Ben Hartsock Football camp on Saturday... so I guess it was a "working vacation".

The kids had a blast doing drills, gaining instruction from local football icons like Cavs coach Ron Hinton, Circleville's Keith Downing, Paint Valley's Pete Hollon and others. But they seemed to enjoy the autograph session at the end of the day  and the kicking demonstration put on by OSU's Drew Basil and their camp host, Big Ben.

Thanks to OU's Wayne Horsley who's been a driving force behind Ben's camp all these years... and for not having me run through the gauntlet like the young kids. For once, I was happy to not be 8 years old again!

There's been alot of attention surrounding Monday's traffic stop of Reds reliever Aroldis Chapman by Grove City Police.

The "Cuban Missle" was pulled over for speeding, but that's when officers discovered he was driving under a suspended license.
