Participants of the wkkj.com web poll believe the Mustangs will succesfully defend their conference football title
High school football kicks-off around the area Friday night. The first three weeks of Scioto Valley Conference play are always non conference.
Among people voting on the www.wkkj.com web poll as to whomthey believe would win the SVC Football Championship, defending champ Westfall got the nod with just over 23% of the vote. Adena was second pick with 20%, followed by Zane Trace, Unioto, Southeastern, Piketon, Huntington and Paint Valley.
Westfall quarterback Trent Williamson is returning for his senior season. There had been rampant rumors that Williamson was returning to his native Grove City Central Crossing, but Coach Scott Keller confirmed to WKKJ Sports that last year's Co-Back of the Year and All Ohioan will remain a Mustang.
The Voice of the SVC, 94 Country WKKJ will open with Zane Trace hosting Logan Elm, followed by the Vallery Ford Scoreboard Show after the game. The scoreboard is celebrating it's 30-year anniversary.
