Stallions Too Much for Cavaliers
St. Francis DeSales tallies 34-0 victory over Chillicothe

The DeSales Stallions show no signs of the difficulties from the first half of the season en route to a 34-0 victory over Chillicothe Friday night.

The Stallions got on the board early on an 8 play drive at the 9:18 mark. Quarterback Alex Perrine scored on a 24 yard sweep for a 7-0 lead.

DeSales scored on its second possession, a 54 yard pass by Perrine to Oliver Grimard for a 13-0 lead.

In the second quarter, Josh Delozier raced 54 yard run to go ahead 19-0, then Perrine hit Grimard again for a 36 yard strike and a 26-0 margin at the half.

Chillicothe squandered some opportunities, including a fumble recovery by Ryan Milliken, inside the Stallions 30 yard line before the close of the second quarter. The Cavs were out of time outs and time expired before they could run another play.

Meanwhile, DeSales took advantage of Chillicothe miscues. Ryan Mathis was picked off twice, both led to Stallions scores. Sayyid Kanu’s interception was turned into a 42 yard field goal by Adam Acquista, who tacked on a 22 yard field goal for a 32-0 lead.

The Cavs recovered a fumble at their own 2 yard line but DeSales defense stopped Markel Cain in the end zone for a safety to close out the scoring.

Chillicothe managed just 160 yards offense, 137 on the ground. The Stallions tallied 362 yards.

The Cavs (1-4) will open SEOAL play at Gallia Academy (3-2) next Friday. The Blue Devils were 40-12 winners over Vinton County.
