Westfall VB Falls in Sweet 16
The Lady Mustangs end season with a 20-5 record.

The Westfall Mustangs saw their tournament run come to an end Wednesday night at the Division 2 Regional Semis in Wilmington, falling to Cincinnati McNicholas 15-25, 25-23, 21-25, 20-25.

Westfall senior Olivia Cobb led her team with 20 kills, 15 assists, and 13 digs, while freshman Hannah Phillips helped out with 14 kills, 13 assists and 9 digs. Kayla Tackett added 15 digs.

For the #2 state ranked Rockets, who are now (24-1), three players had double digit kills. Brooke Logan had 18 kills, Hannah Taylor added 16 kills, and Sarah Bouley had 15 kills. Kendall Powers had 12 digs and Kayla Fritz ended with 31 assists.

After splitting the first two sets, the pivotal third set saw McNicholas race-out to a 11-3 lead, only to see the Mustangs battle back to within 22-20 and 23-21, before the Rockets won the set 25-21 for a 2-1 lead.

Set #4 had the score tied at 16-16, but McNicholas gained the upper hand to take a lead that ranged from 2-3 points. Westfall got to within 21-19, but the Rockets went on a 4-1 to finish off the match.

Westfall finished the season at (20-5).
