Chillicothe Finishes 4th in SEOAL Wrestling
Jacob Price earns his third league title in 138 class, Collins claims the 160 title.

The Cavs gave it a run, but Warren took the crown as SEOAL Wrestling champion.

Chillicothe entered the final round tied for second place trailing by 12 points, but they lost some key swing matches to finish fourth place.

Defending champ Logan took second by four points over Gallia Academy, then Chillicothe and Jackson.

Two Cavaliers won championships in their weight classes, Jacob Price (138) and Christian Collins (160).

Collins beat Warren’s Austin Antill by major decision. “These two wrestled back in December with Collins pulling at a win 7 to 5” said Cavs Wrestling Coach Mike Peck. “Collins didn’t let things get close as he ran away with by winning 11-0.”

Price earned his 3rd league title by beating Logan’s Van Bibber by decision. Peck says Price the “leader of this young Cavs team took over with a key take down in the first period and never looked back with a 5-1 win.”

Other Cavaliers earning second place finishes, Nick Lawhorn (106), Caleb Price (132) Jacob Johansen (145), Daiquan Hall (170), Tyler Kelley (182) and Trevan Bond-Pennington (195).

Chillicothe’s third place finishers included Tyler Howard (285), Brandon Anderson (126) and Daries Harris (120).

Chillicothe will be back in action next week in the Division 2 Southeast District Sectionals at Alexander High School.

The top 4 individuals qualify for the Southwest/Southeast District tournament at Goshen High School on February 22nd and 23rd.
