Chillicothe Council Holding Special Session on Repaving Cost Share

Council will hold a special session this evening for a single legislative item.

Council president Kevin Shoemaker released a notice that council will “consider Assignment 24-032 regarding an appropriation to increase the funding for the City’s share of the Main Street paving project.”

In the last council session, on April 22nd, Mayor Luke Feeney had mentioned that ODOT was planning a more than $3,000,000 “significant paving project” for U.S. Route 50 through the city, involving Eastern Avenue, Main Street, and Western Avenue.

Feeney said the city was obligated for a match of more than $500,000, but the bids came in higher than expected and so the city’s share would rise to about $650,000 to $700,000.

At 6pm Wednesday, May 1st, “Assignment 24-032 shall be the only item on the agenda. Public participation will be limited to discussion of Assignment 24-032.”
